Since MARUQ solely focused on bringing Japanese fashion brands into the US, I sought ways for MARUQ to expand their audience and create a more sustainable long-term profitability plan. With indie online shops on the rise but lacking physical locations, I realized indie brands would be a great area to segment into.

After pitching my idea to branch out MARUQ's focus to my employer, I researched and connected with prospective brands and created my own solo events and projects.

Given my proven track record, I gained full control of MARUQ's US based accounts. I handled MARUQ's consignment and wholesale US accounts and continued to develop and maintain positive relations with them. My accounts generated the highest profit margins for the store.

Today, MARUQ isn't just known as a Japanese brand reseller, but as a hub for online-based indie brands available in-store!

There was no feeling as incredible as witnessing people excited to see their favorite indie online brands in-person directly because of my efforts.

She was absolutely right. The store’s online presence was truly lacking, so I taught myself how to manipulate photos and create graphics on Photoshop outside of work. With my newly acquired skill set, I was able to prove my value to the company.

In full reign of MARUQ's online presence, I created content for our social media platforms and web store to market a feminine and dreamy brand image of the company through social media.

During my time as Marketing Specialist, MARUQ's page authority and backlinks significantly grew due to my consistent and quality work I published. MARUQ ranked #1 on Google for the term "Liz Lisa"–even above the actual brand's official website.
